Qld: Truss slams Beattie government s lack of weed commitment =2

Queensland's Natural Resources and Mines Minister Stephen Robertson, whose portfolio
covers the national weed program, said Mr Truss was being both "churlish and unreasonable".

He said according to commonwealth guidelines all states and territories have until
May 31 to lodge an application.

"We have invested a huge amount of effort on this and we are formulating national plans
for nine of the 20 identified weeds," Mr Robertson said.

"Mr Truss is making a weed out of himself in what is clearly a public holiday media stunt."
